CFD/FEA to Resolve Fluid Induced Vibration Problems

In many types of equipment, piping systems vibration issues are common. Most of these structures are carrying the flows having fluctuations that cause the structure to vibrate. The vibrations if go beyond a certain limit then may cause the failure of the piping system or equipment.
The issue of vibration can be solved in two ways. One way is to make changes to alter the fluid flow in such a way that the vibrations are reduced or the excitation frequency goes away from the natural frequency of the structure. The second way is to make changes to the structural side so that the vibrations are reduced or the natural frequency of the structure is altered away from fluid-induced excitation frequency.
CFD and FEA are the two-state of art technologies used to analyze the flow and the structural integrity respectively. Tridiagonal Solutions has the experience of using both technologies to solve fluid-induced vibration problems.
