A Digital Cement Operator – AI Powered Process Optimization in Cement Operations

Written by Admin | 26 Aug 2024

With the global production of around 4.5 billion tonnes annually cement manufacturers are easily one of the major candidates for process optimization. This industry has always been on the forefront in adoption of new technologies including AI, ML, and advanced process control for process improvements. With the ever-growing demand of cement production, manufacturers have faced several challenges in maintaining the profitability margins due several unfactored influences. It is important for the manufacturers to maintain optimal fuel consumption while meeting the production targets to improve the energy efficiency. With every ton of cement manufactured comes the opportunity of optimization to optimize energy / fuels consumption, asset health and emissions.

Tridiagonal solutions is excited to introduce world’s first deep learning based optimization toolbox (Imubit) – “Digital operator” for closed loop process control solution for cement manufacturing processes. Reinforcement learning powered digital operator is focused to integrate several unfactored influences which has been challenging for the existing solutions. Factors including feed and fuel (Coal, Natural gas, AFRs) quality disturbances, non-linear process dynamics and complex physics becomes the foundation of the solution enabling real time optimization of Kiln and mill operations.
